Description: Display image: ![]() ![]() This lesson shows how to make looped leather ends secured with half round, half hard 20-gauge wire. This is quick and easy and uses a very small amount of wire – the secret is “half round”. I love it because I can make a spiral hook and don’t need to add a jump ring to attach the hook and better yet, the spiral hook slips into a looped leather end quite nicely! Price: $0.00

I love this method of finishing leather ends :o)
If you don't like the tail hanging out you can cut it on an angle - with just a couple more wraps it disappears!

Right, you can clip the tail but I worry about it pulling out then....just a thought!

i'm a beginner just working on a Christmas gift for my 19-year-old niece. your tutorial convinced me to go ahead with a leather cord project as i'm too far away from suppliers to order clasps now and you've given me a funky/neat alternative.
thanks!
Corinne
Jodi, that was a great tutorial, my first time on this site and just getting into beading. Feels good to know people have a great passion and are willing to share the knowledge....Thanks

Thanks to all! Stone Cold, be sure to check out Eni's free tutorial Finishing off leather cord and I have another freebie on my blog How to wire wrap leather ends - all three are a bit different. A few years ago, I was searching for a tutorial to finish leather ends, and this is how I discovered Eni! Glad you found JewelryLessons.com.
